HISTORIAN - TRAVEL WRITER - PROFESSIONAL GUIDE - SPEAKER 

After graduating from Şişli Terakki High School, he studied Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. He received his master's degree on Ottoman Social History, writing a thesis on “The Jews and the Ottoman Social Structure”. He did doctoral studies in Business at Wirtschafts University Of Vienna.

While studying tourism and hotel management, he started work as a professional tour guide, eventually traveling to more than 141 countries and more than 1,400 cities both for business and personal interest. Since 1990 his travel photographs have been published in magazines and websites in several countries including the USA and Australia.

He participated in CNN International’s “ World of Wonders” and “Earth Matters” as a guest in their episodes on Turkey. He was the guest host on an episode of ABC Television’s “Good Morning America.” His book, “Istanbul the Ultimate Guide '' was featured in the New York Times and International Herald Tribune. His studies and essays have been published in several prestigious media outlets, such as Conde Nast Traveler, Travel and Leisure, National Geographic, and Lonely Planet. He has discussed Istanbul and other places in Turkey on the Dr. Oz Show, the USA show hosted by world-famous Mehmet Öz and in the documentary “Hidden Gems of Turkey” shot for National Geographic.

He produced and hosted “Priceless Istanbul '' on NTV for two seasons and the program recorded the highest ratings of the channel. “Privileged Routes” which began in 2017, has been continuing for 6 seasons on NTV and STAR TV, and has published 28 books, winning many awards.
